Transdermal Sciences Plc

Is a biopharmaceutical company focusing on the commercial applications and licensing of a patented biopolymer that is used as a non- invasive transdermal delivery system. This breakthrough technology transports high molecular weight compounds through the skin. Although transdermal delivery systems have been in use for some time, e.g. the nicotine patch introduced in the late 1980's, the technology was limited by the fact that it only allowed delivery of low molecular weight drugs, generally below 800 Daltons.
The company's technology called Somazone, however, enables intradermal and transdermal delivery of drugs up to 12,000 Daltons, which covers approximately 90% of currently sold prescriptions and non prescription pharmaceutical products.
This paves the way for delivery by the company of an array of commercial applications using the biopolymer.

In order to capitalise on its huge competitive technological advantage, Transdermal Sciences is pursuing a dual strategy, targeting both the lucrative cosmetic and medical markets.

Transdermal Cosmetics Plc

Is registered in England and Wales and has been granted an exclusive worldwide license by its parent company Transdermal Sciences Plc, to exploit its unique technology in the field of cosmetics.

It is common knowledge that degeneration of collagen and elastin, (both being high density molecules within the skin), can result in wrinkles.
Historically it has only been possible to introduce these high density molecules into the skin by way of an injection. The company's patented technology allows delivery of high density molecules, such as collagen into the skin by way of more traditional methods such as creams and other cosmetic products.

The company's first product range using the Technology will be marketed in the United States under the name Entre Derm. The range will comprise of general skincare and cleansing products.
The hero products include a day cream and a night cream, which focus on the application of derived collagen for Skin firmness. The EntreDerm range is positioned to address the mature skincare market

The company intends to launch these initial products in the second half of 2008
